Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) Program

The East Baton Rouge Parish Housing Authority has an Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) Program that provides rental assistance to eligible individuals or families who meet one of four eligibility categories:

  • Homeless
  • At risk of homelessness
  • Fleeing, or attempting to flee, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking
  • Recently homeless and for whom providing rental assistance will prevent the family’s homelessness or having high risk of housing instability.

To be considered for an EHV, you must first be referred to the Housing Authority through a direct referral process. The designated agency will determine if you meet the criteria to be referred to the Housing Authority. Once you are referred, the Housing Authority will determine if you are eligible for EHV rental assistance.

You must contact the CAAH One Stop at (225) 388-5800 to apply for the Emergency Housing Voucher Program.
